The Little Qualicum Falls occurrence is located in the head waters of Kinkade Creek, approximately 1.5 kilometres north of the eastern end of Cameron Lake.

The area is underlain by fine-grained granite and granodiorite of the Lower Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite intrude basalts and related diabase dykes of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation, Vancouver Group.

Locally, a 3 by 23 metre altered, sheared and brecciated zone occurs in the volcanics, in contact with diabase (diorite). Mineralization in the altered zone consists of disseminated chalcocite, malachite and azurite.

In the mid 1960’s, Gunnex completed regional a program of prospecting and geochemical sampling in the area. A sample assayed 0.93 per cent copper and 3.4 grams per tonne silver (Laanela, 1965).

A few other small copper occurrences are reported in the area.
